Visitor journeys from recorded sessions
A Tracwell journey is the ordered timeline of page views and custom events recorded within one session. It shows the visit’s entry, activity, and exit so you can inspect the path behind an outcome.
Follow the sequence, not just the destination
A conversion tells you that an outcome occurred. A journey lets you inspect the pages and custom actions that preceded it within the recorded session, together with the visit’s acquisition context.
Inspect the visit linked to a purchase
When a verified server payment includes a matching Product-mode session ID, revenue reports can connect that purchase to its originating visit. Open the purchasing journey to inspect what was recorded in that session.
Explore the path to a signup
Example workflow
- Capture page views and a signup_completed event.
- Open a session containing that event.
- Read its entry page, intervening page views, and custom actions in time order.
- Turn the recurring steps into a funnel to measure how often visitors complete them.
What to keep in mind
Journeys show recorded sessions, not video replays or a complete cross-device customer history. They cannot establish that a page caused a purchase. Missing tracking or withheld consent means some actions will not appear.
Is a journey the same as session replay?
No. It is a timeline of recorded pages and events, not a screen recording, mouse trace, or playback of the interface.
